Sundararajan Pichai was born on 10 June 1972 in Chennai, India. is an Indian-American business executive. That Alphabet Inc. and is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its subsidiary company Google. Pichai earned a degree in metallurgical engineering from IIT Kharagpur. After moving to the United States, he received his MS in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University and further an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Siebel Scholar.

Early life and education

Pichai's mother, Lakshmi, was a stenographer, and his father, Raghunath Pichai, was an electrical engineer in the British conglomerate GEC. His father also owned a manufacturing plant that produced electrical components. Pichai grew up in a two-room apartment in Ashok Nagar, Chennai and had a Hindu upbringing. Pichai completed his schooling at Jawahar Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School, Ashok Nagar, a Central Board of Secondary Education school in Chennai, and completed his Class XII from Vana Vani School, IIT Madras. He holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and is a distinguished alumnus of that institute. Pichai's Career Beginning

Pichai started his career as a material engineer. Prior to becoming CEO of Alphabet, Pichai's base salary was about $6.5 lakh (roughly Rs 4.8 crore) in 2019. All Other Compensation in 2019 was close to $3.3 million.
